Okay, I’ll admit I found this total twaddle but maybe that’s just me. What a bonkers idea for a plot! I’ll give the writer a free pass though because he’s new to the show. And someone clearly sat him down with a bunch of S7 DVDs so he’s stuck in that awful season while the show has (thankfully!) moved on a bit.
So we had:
Unfunny squadroom banter – check.
Weird plot that makes no sense – check.
Strange characterisations, and Tony as the butt of the jokes – check.
Ziva making her superior, Tony-you’re-so-stupid, smirky face constantly – check.
It’s a shame because I adore Ducky, but this episode left me completely cold. I don’t know why he couldn’t just find a nice woman and enjoy it but I guess in NCISland nobody but Jimmy can be lucky in love. I really liked Cheryl Ladd and thought she and Ducky made rather a nice couple. I liked that she thought Ducky was a catch – because he IS! He’s lovely! But where the hell did that psychotic break come from?!
I did like a couple of funny lines that Tony had – such as his urge to suppress a chicken joke – and the way he cringed from the headslap that didn’t come.
Other than that, I thought it was pretty blah. -
Agreed on all points. Add in pod!Gibbs suddenly being squeamish about looking at a brain. And Ducky feeding pastries to Palmer, who is diabetic.
I think they’re working on a plan to give EVERY character a homicidal crazy girlfriend… -
So is Ziva or Abby next? Cause I’m fairly certain all the boys have had crazy girlfriends (McGee got a girlfriend who robbed him blind + a fan who was homicidal which I think = a homicidal crazy girlfriend).

Since when has he EVER had problems looking at bits of bodies before?! He usually seems to quite enjoy it in an educational kind of way!
They got it wrong, wrong wrong! Gibbs is never squeamish about anything Ducky does. I mean for heavens sakes, this is the same guy who will climb up onto the other autopsy table for forty winks while Ducky disembowels, de brains and de hearts, pumps, prods, pulls and weighs what ever corps has been brought in. Gibbs wrinkling his nose and looking like he’s going to bolt? Wrong!
Have to admit that this episode didn’t do much for me either. Insomuch as there were numerous cups of tea and I picked up the hoover whilst it was playing.
Only saving grace? There was a nice black and white shot of Gibbs and he looked gorgeous

Why is poor Ducky being so horribly punished ?
He needs to meet a good woman who can listen to his long meandering stories with a smile glued to her face. And I love Ziva’s warm chuckle. It is a momentary flash of another dimension of her character.
So what the writers have to do is get nice girls for Gibbs, Ducky AND Tony!

we know so little of ducky’s past. for all that he talks he is a lot like Tony….making sure people think you have nothing to hide because you talk all the time….so people assume that you’re an open book (ok…so it is a technique i have also used to great effect…it works…people are dumb…sue me).
even my 13 year old thought that Tony was saying he goes on dates with Gibbs…and yes…that was a lovely same sex relationship discussion i had to have during my FAV tv show! not.
